The Roman Bronze Works began the original lost wax casting of The Cheyenne in 1901. These Frederic Remington sculptures are fine art reproductions of the piece known as The Cheyenne, which displays a Cheyenne warrior at full gallop.
Remington bronzes challenged the sculpture techniques of the day by presenting art in new and innovative ways. On the Cheyenne, for example, notice that none of the horse hoofs touch touch the ground, which creates the effect of fluid movement.
Measuring 21.5 inches tall, the original Cheyenne is one of the more famous Remington bronzes. This depiction of life in the early West is part of our western bronze sculptures collection.
Like the original Remington sculptures, these western art reproductions are produced using the lost wax casting method. Lost wax casting is usually preferred to sand casting because the resulting reproduction retains a closer resemblance to the original model.
The Cheyenne Frederic Remington sculpture in four sizes
The Cheyenne mini sculpture is perfect for trophies and special events where you need multiple awards. This bronze measures 3 3/4 inches tall and sits on top of a 2 x 3 x 3/4 inch thick marble base (usually black marble).
The Cheyenne desktop sculpture is popular as sales achievement awards. The bronze itself measures 9 inches tall and comes with a beautiful walnut base measuring 4 x 4 1 1/2 inches (as featured).
The Cheyenne credenza size bronze measures 12 inches mounted on a genuine walnut base measuring 5 1/4 x 12 x 1 1/2 inches thick.
The full size regular bronze (the size of the original Remington casting) measures 20 inches tall and is mounted on a walnut hardwood base 9 x 16 x 1 1/2 inches thick and weighs approximately 45 lbs.
