3 x 5 Foot Antiqued First Republic of Texas Flag

Celebrate Texas History with this 3 x 5 foot antiqued First Republic of Texas Flag from our Texas gifts and Texas flags collections. This first flag of the Republic of Texas era designed by Lorenzo de Zavala in 1836, and is hand made of genuine cotton with embroidered five-pointed lone star and T-E-X-A-S lettering.

We custom tea-stained these by hand and so each one will be differently shaded with that wonderful soft, old-looking antique flag feel. This flag normally measures 36 x 60 inches (3 by 5 foot) unstained, but you should expect shrinkage of at least two inches in each direction from the antiquing process. Two metal grommets are attached on the flag hoist side. Please be aware that the antiquing tea-staining process on these first Republic of Texas flags primarily affects the white star in the center, as the change to the blue field background color is nice but very slight.

Special note: some folks may choose to hang this outside on a special flag day, but we cannot recommend using it outdoors. Please note this flag is designed for indoor use and the colors can fade and bleed if left out of doors in the sun or rain.
