Celebrate the work of this central Texas artist with us. Recognized for her Texas themed and animal wildlife art, she continually challenges the conventional limits of the unforgiving pen and ink medium as she 'paints with her pens'.
A short biography: from her home in Austin, Texas, Sherry brings a unique style to the field of art. Self-taught and painting since 1993, her signature technique is working exclusively with permanent inks. Blending and overlaying the multiple colors mixed for each piece brings an unexpected depth and texture to her work unattainable with the traditional use of black ink or watercolor washes. She continually challenges the conventional limits of the unforgiving pen and ink medium as she 'paints with her pens'. Sketching from her life's perspective indelibly leaves its mark on her all her work, whether the subject is found on a Texas ranch, wildlife or from Texas history. Always keeping focus on the natural beauty of her subjects, she lets their inherent honesty speak for itself...and her work leaves us richer in the process.
