Trooper of the Plains Remington Sculpture

Product code: remington-trooper-plains
The Roman Bronze Works began the original lost wax casting of Trooper of the Plains in 1909. These Frederic Remington sculptures are fine art reproductions of a western bronze featuring a cavalry trooper on a galloping horse. Holding a pistol at the ready, he pursues his object with quiet but firm determination.

Remington challenged the sculpture techniques of his day by working in innovative ways to present movement in his bronze statues. On Trooper of the Plains, three of the hooves gather under the horse at the statue's base to take advantage of the bronze material's strength and display the rapid movement of the trooper's mount.

Measuring 26 inches tall, the original Trooper is one of the later Remington bronzes; it was produced in the year prior to his death. This depiction of life in the early West is part of our western bronze sculptures collection.

These western art reproductions are produced using the lost wax casting method. Lost wax casting is usually preferred to sand casting because the resulting reproduction retains a closer resemblance to the original model. Comes mounted on rich green marble base.
