Cactus Mesquite Wood Pens

Celebrate Texas with these hand-made cactus and mesquite wood pens from our Texas corporate gifts collection.

These hand-turned custom ballpoint pens with a bright gold finish are made in Texas from wood of the mesquite tree (Prosopis) and prickly pear cactus (Opuntia). They are harvested in South Texas and combined to create this truly unique Texas keepsake called the "Taking Texas with Me" (TM) pen.

The "Taking Texas with Me" (TM) pen takes standard Cross ballpoint refills and comes with an attractive velvet gift pouch. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity verifying the pen's unusual characteristics, heritage and roots; verifying that no plants were destroyed in the crafting of these hand made pens.

A bit about the cactus part of the pen: To arrive at the beautiful finish, the cactus is chopped, including thorns, and skillfully combined with a resin material until it turns into a solid block (see image at right). When it's cured, the cactus is HARD (translation: durable). This cactus section is left rounded rather than tapered to display the rich colors. Comes with a one year warranty.
