Wallace Simpson, celebrated Texas cowboy, artist, newspaperman and poet, who recorded ranch, rodeo and cowboy life in Texas with paint and pen from 1900 to the 1940's.
Wallace was a working cowboy himself and probably sat down for lunch near the chuck wagon with the rest of the ranch hands while food was served up plentiful and hot.
