NCHA Hall of Fame rider Carol Rose and her cutting horse Genuine Doc at work in this print reproduction of "Carol Rose", part of a series of oil paintings entitled "Lone Star Legends" by East Texas artist Howard DuBois.
Artist Notes: features Carol Rose and her cutting horse Genuine Doc. The inspiration for this painting comes from the great admiration the artist has for this lady.
Carol Rose was the first woman to compete in the NCHA Futurity and was the first woman to win the NCHA Non Pro World Championship. She is the number one breeder of performance horses in the AQHA.
Genuine Doc is a Lone Star Legend in his own right, sired by the great Doc Bars. Carol rode Genuine Doc to an AQHA Reserve World Champion Cutting title and a third place in the NCHA Open Super Stakes. He is an AQHA Super horse sire whose sons and daughters are named among lists of champions.
The Lone Star Legends series is my way of paying homage to those in the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame whose accomplishments have done so much to help myself and others to reach for higher standards of excellence.
Printed on archival paper, this open art print celebrates the important place Texas has in NCHA cutting horse and AQHA quarter horse traditions. Hand signed by the artist and measures 13 x 19 inches.
