History buffs will enjoy celebrating Texas with our framed Texas Battle map, a one-of-a-kind framed illustration from our
Texas Maps collection. This map provides a fresh appreciation for the fact that we enjoy many liberties today because of Texans who fought and died for them.
It took the artist over seven years to research and hand-draw this unusual
Texas history map using pen and ink on acrylics using a technique known as "stippling." Throughout this original map are renderings and little known details (flags, forts, portraits, weaponry, ships) that will delight anyone interested in Texas history (see map closeups below). It features the Republic of Texas and over one hundred years of Texas battles between 1775 and 1880 including
- Spanish Mexican War (1775 - 1832)
- Texas Revolution (1833 - 1836
- Republic of Texas (1836 - 1845)
- Mexican War and Statehood (1846 - 1860)
- Civil War Years (1861 - 1865)
- Native American's Last Stand (1868 - 1880)

This map of early Texas (
Large view) is printed on archival paper, dry mounted, plus protected with matte finish lamination, and comes with a specially selected walnut colored
custom wood frame.
